In the press conference last Tuesday Steve Spurrier confirming that he is “Resigning” as USC head ball coach. He decided to stepped out because the team is not performing well on this season under his coaching. Gamecocks fell 45-24 to LSU last Saturday, moving South Carolina 2-4 (0-4 SEC) on this season.
He had made up this decision not only for himself but also for the team. Because he believes, rebuilding the team under new leadership can bring enthusiasm and eagerness to make the team better and more stronger.
He also clears up that he is not retiring, instead he’s just resigning as head coach. He didn’t close the door, because he might become head coach in the High School football someday or there might be new opportunity for him in the future. Time can only tell, as long as the team under his coaching keeps rocking, he will continue, but if it starts failing, he will surely get out.
