Arkansas Head Coach Sam Pittman enters his 1st season at the helm with low expectations. The Razorbacks are coming off a 2-10 season and have a very difficult schedule again in 2020. Arkansas welcomes back eight starters on Offense including four starters on the Offensive Line. Senior Quarterback Felipe Franks (Florida transfer) takes over as the new signal caller and will share the backfield with senior Running Back Rakeem Boyd – another returning starter. The Wide Receiving Unit is loaded with talent and returns three starters in junior Mike Woods and sophomores Treylon Burks and Trey Knox. Arkansas returns six starters on Defense but only one starter on the Defensive Line in sophomore Defensive End Mataio Soli. Look out for senior Defensive Tackle Xavier Kelly (Clemson transfer) to contribute as well. The Linebacking Unit also only returns one starter in junior Linebacker Bumper Pool. The Secondary will be the strength of the Defense with four starters returning including a pair of junior Cornerbacks in Jarques McClellion and Montaric Brown. The Special Teams Unit will be led by junior Punter Sam Loy while senior AJ Reed (Duke transfer) is expected to take over the Kicking duties. Arkansas has enough talent returning to improve on last season’s 2-10 record. The question is – can they? The Razorbacks believe their new Head Coach will ignite a fire under the program which hasn’t been seen in some time. I predict Arkansas to improve slightly this season and go 3-9 in 2020.
