Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin enters his 1st season at the helm with modest expectations. The Rebels hope to become Bowl Eligible again at the bare minimum but are hoping for even bigger things. Ole Miss welcomes back six starters including three starters on the Offensive Line. Sophomore Quarterback John Rhys Plumlee – another returning starter – will share the backfield with fellow sophomore – Running Back Jerrion Ealy. The Wide Receiving Unit returns two starters in junior Elijah Moore and sophomore Jonathan Mingo. Look out for senior Tight End Kenny Yeboah (Temple transfer) to have a big season as well. Ole Miss welcomes back six starters on Defense as well including one starter on the Defensive Line in senior Defensive End Sam Williams. The Linebacking Unit returns all three starters and will be carried by senior Middle Linebacker Lakia Henry and junior Outside Linebacker Jacquez Jones. The Secondary returns two starters and will be anchored by senior Safety Jon Haynes. The Special Teams Unit returns intact with both senior Kicker Luke Logan and senior Punter Mac Brown back. Ole Miss faces an uphill climb in 2020 as it will be difficult to get back to the top of the SEC West Division. The Rebels have a brutal schedule that includes a road game against LSU sandwiched in between home games against Auburn and Alabama. I believe the Rebels will be vastly improved under Kiffin and will become Bowl Eligible again. Expect even bigger things in future seasons. I predict Ole Miss to go 7-6 in 2020 in Kiffin’s 1st season in Oxford.
